Residential Program Manager – CSP June 2025 For more than 50 years, Washington County Mental Health Services (WCMHS) has served the Washington County community and the Orange County towns of Orange, Washington and Williamstown. POSITION
WCMHS is seeking a program Manager for the Community Support Program Division. The Program Manager is responsible for the overall management and daily operations of a licensed therapeutic residential facility, ensuring compliance with all Department of Licensing and Protection regulations. This full-time, benefit-eligible role includes direct oversight of resident care, with a focus on client-centered, trauma-informed, and harm-reduction approaches. The Program Manager supervises and supports direct care staff, promotes best practices in treatment models, and ensures a safe and supportive environment. Responsibilities include managing administrative functions such as scheduling, payroll approval, staff training, supply ordering, and facility maintenance. The role also involves advocating for residents’ treatment needs, attending interdisciplinary meetings, and providing transportation for community outings and medical appointments when needed. Flexibility is essential, as some evening and weekend hours may be required. The Program Manager serves as the manager of record for the Division of Licensing and Protection and supports overall program quality and continuity of care.
QUALIFICATIONS
The preferred combination of education and relevant experience for this position includes: + Associate’s degree in human services or related field or three (3) years of general experience in a human service-related field. + Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred. Additional requirements for this position include: + Ability to manage situations of increasing complexity and rapidly changing priorities. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Able to communicate with diverse range of individuals including clients, family members, community members, etc. + Able to diffuse escalated interactions using industry best practices. + Experience managing staff on a 24/7, 365 schedule both in person and virtually. + Willingness to work flexible hours. + Clean driving record and access to safe, reliable, and insured vehicle for work related travel require. + Strong analytical and organizational skills. + Ability to work collaboratively and productively with internal and external partners. + Understanding of and commitment to advancing the WCMHS mission and supporting the provision of collaborative and inclusive mental health, development disability, and substance use services.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This full-time exempt position offers an hourly rate of $26.33/hr and excellent benefits, including tuition reimbursement/student loan assistance; generous paid time off; employer-sponsored health, dental, life, and disability insurances; and a 403(b) retirement plan with employer match.
