In addition, he/she is responsible for the planning and supervising of activities of all Public Safety Officers and other personnel assigned to the shift.
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Delegates assignments to Public Safety Officers. Gives work directions to, trains and works with members of the Public Safety force to accomplish. department objectives efficiently and safely. Patrols grounds and buildings, enforces conduct of individuals on campus as established by the College; Maintains order and quells any disturbances. Ensures compliance of traffic and parking regulations. Carries out all orders and procedures set forth by the Associate Vice President or designee. Performs additional tasks or duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Public Safety or designee
SPECIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Associate’s Degree required; satisfactory completion of a comprehensive course at a police training academy or security officer training academy
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Public Safety operations; some supervisory experience is required
Other:
Walking, standing for extended periods of time, running, lifting, bending, twisting, able to endure inclement weather conditions to include but not limited to heat, cold, humidity, and direct sunlight. Must have a valid New Jersey driver’s license and ability to work shifts any day of the week.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrates understanding of the community college mission and practices an open door policy. Possesses knowledge of New Jersey Statutes and Motor Vehicle Regulations. Has thorough knowledge of College communication systems and the ability to carry out orders correctly; also must be able to learn additional systems used by the College. Has basic proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
Annual Salary is $47,194-$76,488 NJ Educators Health Plan with free Vision and Dental. NJ State Pension plan. 15 vacation days, 15 sick days, 4 personal days, 2 floating holidays, all designated holidays and 5 non-designated holidays a year. 3 Partial Sick Days.
