Job Description

Production Scheduler Expeditor 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars Lugoff, SC The individual will assist the PPC Manager with scheduling production according to demand and quality requirements. The individual will also be responsible for expediting multiple projects of varying complexities throughout the entire project life cycle (raw material through shipping) and be the conduit for production-related communications between the shop floor and management regarding schedule, inventory, and quality issues. The goal is to ensure our production operations’ smooth and cost-efficient flow. Actively monitor jobs and corresponding physical work center locations in real-time. Maximize efficiency by stagging fibers & raw materials in each process, expedite as needed. Assist in scheduling shifts according to production needs. Predict how long a project will take to complete. Ensure all jobs have been correctly completed through every step of the process on time and within budget. Take action to resolve discrepancies. Address and escalate scheduling issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption. Assist in meeting shipping goals as defined by the Production Manager Organize project/customer order paperwork, including travelers, and purchase requisitions, and maintain records. Ensure complete and accurate information is entered into the system promptly. Maintain work order conformance on a day-to-day basis. Assist in assigning day-to-day tasks to the production department, including myself. Provide accurate daily reporting of production status, schedules, updates, and corrections taken to resolve issues. Physically track jobs and/or parts in the manufacturing facility for status updates Assist in determining manpower, and identifying appropriate equipment, and raw materials needed to meet or exceed production demand. Ensure production supply inventories are maintained and notify the appropriate purchasing associates when items need to be restocked. Be directly involved with the implementation and execution of continuous improvement planning & execution. Occasionally conduct teleconference calls to review the schedule with the department leadership for status updates Supports 5-S and adheres to Health, Safety, and Environmental company guidelines. Perform cross-functional operations.

REQUIREMENTS

: Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbal and written. Advanced MS Excel skills related to managing a production schedule. Advanced communication skills using email, enterprise resource software, and teleconference equipment. Must have at least 2 years of manufacturing production control experience within a job-shop environment. Ability to prioritize and react to project changes. Excellent PC Skills- Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project. Ability to learn cross-functional operations. Must have the legal authorization to work in the United States Must be able to pass pre-employment examinations including background checks, and alcohol, and drug tests. Must be able to stand for long periods; repetitious movements including bending and stretching. Must be able to operate a forklift May be required and must be able to move and/or lift at least 60 pounds
