Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cross Dock Manager to oversee and optimize our cross-docking operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the cross-dock facility, ensuring seamless coordination between inbound and outbound shipments, and driving operational efficiency to meet company goals. Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
Oversee daily cross-docking activities, including the coordination of inbound and outbound shipments. Monitor and manage the workflow to minimize delays and optimize throughput.
Staff Supervision:
Supervise, train, and evaluate cross-dock staff, including warehouse workers, loaders, and coordinators. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment while ensuring adherence to safety and operational protocols.
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase throughput. Utilize data and performance metrics to analyze and improve cross-dock operations.
Customer Service:
Work closely with clients and internal teams to address and resolve any issues related to cross-dock operations. Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards. Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of cross-dock activities, including shipment schedules, performance metrics, and incident reports. Prepare and present reports on operational performance to senior management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred). Proven experience in a cross-docking or warehouse management role, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory capacity. Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain operations. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
