Role:
The Logistics Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our supply chain, including warehousing, inventory management, transportation, and delivery. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of logistics principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and a steadfast commitment to operational excellence with a keen focus on customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will improve efficiency, reduce costs, and significantly enhance the overall customer experience through effective logistics management.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Safety Training:
Develop and deliver safety training programs for all delivery personnel, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and maintaining a safe working environment.
Communication & Documentation:
Document and effectively communicate logistics policies, operational updates, delivery issues, and customer concerns to both the sales and delivery teams, ensuring alignment and seamless coordination to enhance overall service.
Delivery Crew Management:
Directly manage the day-to-day operations of delivery crews, focusing on efficient routing, adherence to specific delivery schedules, and ensuring they provide exceptional customer service during appliance deliveries and installations. This includes daily dispatch and real-time problem-solving for delivery teams.
Team Leadership & Development:
Recruit, train, mentor, and manage the broader logistics team, including warehouse staff and all delivery personnel. Foster a culture of accountability, safety, continuous improvement, and a strong customer-centric approach across the entire department. This involves performance reviews, professional development, and promoting a positive work environment.
Vehicle Maintenance:
Oversee and coordinate the regular maintenance, repair, and inspection of the delivery fleet to ensure vehicle safety, reliability, and compliance with transportation regulations, thereby minimizing delivery disruptions and maintaining customer trust. Ensure vehicle inspection logs to identify new vehicle issues quickly.
Compliance:
Ensure all logistics activities comply with relevant state and federal regulations, including transportation / DOT laws.
Process Improvement:
Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and technology adoption to enhance logistics efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Reporting & Analysis:
Generate regular reports on logistics performance metrics, identify trends, and provide recommendations for process improvements, with a focus on metrics related to delivery performance and customer feedback.
Cost Management:
Monitor and analyze logistics costs, such as overtime, identifying areas for improvement and implementing cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality or customer satisfaction.
Technology & Systems:
Utilize and optimize logistics software and systems (e.g., Package.
AI, EPASS
) to enhance efficiency, track deliveries, and provide accurate data for decision-making, enabling proactive communication and service to customers.
