Position OverviewThe Senior Director of Transportation willspearhead the strategic vision and operational effectiveness of ourtransportation network while leading a sizable, high-impact team.
Your leadership will be instrumental in optimizing store deliveryand transportation support, ensuring strong financial performanceand reinforcing the organization’s ability to deliver exceptionalservice and customer satisfaction. This pivotal role demands adynamic leader capable of driving continuous improvementinitiatives, fostering strong cross-functional collaboration, andcultivating a high-performing team. You will also serve as a keycompany representative in litigation matters related totransportation.
Job DescriptionDescription Drive Operational Excellence:
Lead and optimize all storedelivery activities and related transportation functions(transfers, storage pullbacks, reverse logistics, etc.) across theassigned regions, utilizing both private and third-party dedicatedresources to ensure efficiency and reliability.
Strategic Financial Management:
Develop and execute strategiesfocused on optimizing P&L performance, including accurateforecasting of expenses and income, and achieving annual budgettargets. Lead cross-departmental projects to identify and implementcontinuous improvement initiatives that enhance financialoutcomes.
Champion Customer Experience:
Ensure the delivery ofexceptional customer service through consistent on-time deliveryperformance, proactive communication, and accurate invoicingprocesses. Actively engage with key customers through store visits,top-to-top meetings, and transportation summits to understand theirevolving needs and identify opportunities for transportation todrive value.
Foster Cross-Functional Alignment:
Maintain strong alignmentand collaboration between field operations, routing, and processand planning sub-functions to maximize resource utilization andconsistently achieve or exceed contractual on-time delivery levelsand regional goals. Partner effectively with inbound, planning,warehouse, and procurement teams to ensure seamless execution ofcross-functional objectives.
Develop High-Performing Teams:
Ensure regional and localleadership operates at expected levels of productivity, safety, andcompliance. Establish clear expectations for team members, provideongoing feedback and coaching, and challenge the team tocontinually improve and expand their capabilities. Develop robusttalent development and succession plans to build a pipeline offuture leaders.
Strategic Carrier Partnerships:
Collaborate with the carriermanagement function to address non-dedicated third-party carrierneeds, including shuttles, large capacity constraints, and surgerequirements.
Company Representation:
Serve as a knowledgeable andauthoritative company representative in litigation matters relatedto transportation, working closely with legal counsel.

: 10+ years of progressive leadership experience inSupply Chain, with significant experience in transportation andlogistics management. Proven ability to manage multiple complexinitiatives simultaneously and drive them to successful completion.
Demonstrated success in developing talent, implementing effectivesuccession planning strategies, and building high-performing teams.
Strong financial acumen with a proven track record of managingsignificant budgets and driving P&L optimization. Excellentcommunication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills,with the ability to effectively interact with internal and externalstakeholders at all levels. Strategic thinking and problem-solvingabilities, with a focus on continuous improvement andinnovationYears Of Experience 10-15 : years of relevant experience. Experience with SupplyChain, Transportation and Warehouse Operations aplus.
