Job Overview:
As a Distribution Coordinator Lead, you will be responsible for managing the workflow and operational efficiency of the distribution team. You will oversee order fulfillment, prioritize tasks based on urgency, and ensure that products are shipped accurately and on time. You will also coordinate with lift drivers, MMS drivers, utility workers, and third-party dispatchers to guarantee that shipments are loaded and sent out without delay.
Key Responsibilities:
Order Fulfillment Management:
Oversee the picking, packing, and shipping of customer orders to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Create daily picklists and monitor order status to ensure that all shipments are fulfilled as requested. Prioritize orders based on customer deadlines and shipping schedules.
Team Supervision & Coordination:
Lead and supervise warehouse staff, including lift drivers, MMS drivers, and utility workers. Collaborate with team members to meet order deadlines and resolve issues as they arise. Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure efficient operations.
Logistics Coordination:
Coordinate with MMS drivers to ensure parts are available for loading onto trucks. Oversee the loading and unloading process to ensure orders are shipped correctly and promptly. Determine the lane for each carrier and assign dock trailers accordingly.
Problem-Solving & Discrepancy Resolution:
Address and resolve discrepancies in orders, inventory, or shipments. Conduct research and investigations to resolve order issues and identify root causes. Ensure accurate tracking of orders and shipments.
Communication & Reporting:
Maintain regular communication with the team, supervisor, and third-party drivers using email, radio, and phone. Update and inform relevant stakeholders about order status, potential delays, or discrepancies. Report on performance metrics such as order accuracy, on-time delivery, and inventory levels.
Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or GED required. 1-3 years of relevant experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
Experience & Skills:
Proven experience in logistics or distribution management, preferably in a lead or supervisory role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Strong communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills. Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time. Forklift certification is required.
Knowledge & Certifications:
Familiarity with DOT and OSHA regulations is essential. Forklift certification is required.
