SUMMARY:
Manages the distribution operations and functions within the organization. Responsibilities include organizing and coordinating the supply, storage, and distribution of raw material receipts and finished goods shipments. Serves as the point of contact between departments and suppliers as pertaining to shipping & receiving.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Ensure compliance with all safety rules and regulations and continuously develop a safe culture. Maintain and operate a forklift in a safe manner, and complete pre-shift equipment inspections. Pull/prepare products for shipment, ensuring proper packaging and unit counts as required. Ensure compliance with all housekeeping expectations. Ensure stock rotation of incoming/outgoing product and proper staging of product. Manage receipt of raw materials and timely supply to production lines. Manage transfer of production to storage onsite and offsite. Manage receipt and transfer of finished goods production from the plant to the warehouse for storage. Manage inbound and outbound shipments of finished goods. Ensure accurate inventories of raw materials and finished goods in operating systems. Conduct physical inventory counts of the facility contents to ensure warehouse accuracy and customer service visibility. Develop and manage systems that allow for maximum productivity and have measurable accountabilities. Assign duties to staff and monitor their performance. Interview, hire, and train warehouse workers. Review invoices, work orders, and data to estimate peak delivery periods and verify daily shipment logs. Schedule and monitor the pickup or delivery of products.
SUPERVISORY/ LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
The Warehouse Manager provides leadership for hourly employees in a warehouse environment.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time. Ability to provide leadership and get results through others. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Inventory/Shipment Management are a MUST. Continuous improvement mindset, always thinking “it can be done better.” Experience managing employees in a dynamic plant and warehouse operation is required. Internal and External customer satisfaction driven required. Ability to accept coaching and constructive criticism.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
3-5 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment 3-5 years of experience in the distribution of goods and/or products Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The job is primarily performed in a production warehouse environment. Most work will be done in areas that are hot, humid, or cold.
