Position Overview:

The Manager – Warehouse reports to the Director-SCM.

  • The Manager will oversee the 3PL warehouse operation and supports Advagen’s Qualification and Validation activities.
  • As a member of the Warehouse team the candidate will be required to perform a wide variety of support activities and functions.
  • This role will be responsible for assuring compliance with Advagen’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) along with all applicable worldwide regulations and guidelines (e.g. FDA).
  • This role works with Quality Assurance to maintain GXP compliance throughout the warehouse and distribution network. This includes quality events handling – support investigations of quality events, external notifications and complaints, determine root causes, implement CAPAs, and drive closure.
  • Contribute to FDA/DEA Reporting and Inspections. Support the maintenance and operations of Advagen key supply chain systems such as ERP and serialization.
  • Lead the team by setting productivity goals, establishing reliable organization systems, and creating effective communication methods within the warehouse.
  • Direct shipments and resolve logistical challenges or customer complaints by communicating with internal and external customers, transportation providers and suppliers.
  • As a Manager meticulously follow standards pertaining to quality control and are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of all shipments.
  • Strategize capacity to maximize productivity, while maintaining a safe and efficient warehouse operation.
  • Track the supply chain to deploy resources according to the shipping schedule to achieve or exceed on-time delivery KPI goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensures health and safety policies are maintained at the highest level.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, including the ability to set goals, motivate, manage conflict, drive change, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Proficient understanding and adherence to customer-specific requirements related to product labeling and packaging, including ISO standards as defined within process ownership.
  • Competent with company ERP system, cycle-count program, material disposition process, and logistical standards
  • Effective and professional interaction with Customer Service Representatives to consistently maintain a high-level of customer support and ensure all pertinent information regarding delivery status is communicated timely and accurately.

Maintaining daily receiving & shipping schedule, Waybills/BOL/PL firm understanding of company document package Understand all business units including material claims, processing reports, and contract pricing structures. Ensure proper material flow utilizing FIFO methodology. Must ensure Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance for all inbound and outbound facility operations. Assures that the area is ready at all times for a regulatory inspection, including that documentation complies with standards and that opportunities related to housekeeping and facility fit and finish are identified, reported, and corrected. Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on imports, DOT and IATA for transportation of dangerous substances. This includes instructional support to staff for intercompany movements in SAP.

Basic Requirements:

Masters /bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of manufacturing/operations/warehouse/logistics experience, including a minimum of 2-3years of managing an E-Commerce warehouse/fulfillment center is preferred.

  • 5+ years’ experience required with strong understanding of shipping and receiving, inventory management (pharma industry preferred) Experience with WMS software is a must.
  • ERP experience required; SAP strongly preferred.
  • Will have a strong understanding of Lean Methodology
  • Experience running meetings and delegating tasks, creating documentation and SOPs hiring temp workers for seasonal positions. Deep knowledge of shipping zones, rates, inventory planning and forecasting
  • Comfortable building and maintaining relationships with vendors to build rapport and constantly negotiate better rates and costs.
