Warehouse Material Handler The Material Handler is responsible for unloading inbound freight, verification against purchase orders, neatly and safely staging stock for put-away into the storage tiers onto pallets so that boxes are stable and able to be transported and stored in an overhead or pick bin. The Material Handler will also shrink-wrap stacked pallets using a semi-automated shrink-wrap machine and pallet jack, then stage the wrapped pallets for put-away.

Responsibilities/Duties:

Safely operate materials handling equipment, forklifts, etc. Remove pallets of inbound merchandise from trailers to the receiving floor and place the pallets in the proper staging areas. Handle inbound new pallets, stock pallet storage areas, remove broken pallets and stack them in the pallet trailer. Use warehouse materials handling equipment to move goods in and out of staging areas and onto transport trailers. Inspect goods for damage or faults before they are unloaded. Use industrial packaging materials, such as cardboard boxes, wooden pallets and bubble wrap to safely and securely package goods. Validate box and pallet counts per shipment. Complete paperwork/enter data into software to allow orders to be tracked. Ensure that work areas are kept clean and tidy. Follow health and safety policies and procedures in the warehouse. Other Duties as Assigned.

Qualifications/Skills:

High School diploma or equivalent preferred 1 year of previous warehouse experience preferred Ability to operate a pallet jack Basic reading and math skills Ability to handle multiple tasks Ability to stand of long periods Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-60lbs. Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Commitment to safe working environment
