Full Job Description General Labor Chattanooga, TN Job Summary:

American Display & Fixture (ADF) is seeking General Laborers to perform one or a combination of skilled tasks as assigned to assist the general operation of the plant in a safe and efficient manner. Responsible for general duties involving physical handling of product, materials, supplies, and equipment.

Hours of Operation:

1st Shift

• 7:00 am
• 3:30 pm
• Monday through Friday Please note that overtime may be required depending on our customers’ needs.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Assist in various skilled grinding/sanding tasks throughout the production area. Operate grinding and sanding tools to smooth and finish metal surfaces. Ensure tools are maintained and used safely. Assess different techniques for achieving optimal metal finishes. Maintain a strong understanding of quality standards and expectations. Ensure all finished products meet or exceed standards. Focus on making rough welded edges neat and visually appealing. Inspect welded areas and perform necessary finishing touches. Identify and correct any imperfections or defects. Manually handle product, materials, supplies, and equipment as needed. Support machine operators and other team members in their tasks. Clean and maintain work areas to ensure safety and efficiency. Follow instructions and safety procedures at all times. Perform quality checks to ensure products meet standards. Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required. Assist with loading and unloading deliveries as assigned.

Requirements:

Strong attention to detail to assure a quality product. Responsible for the quality of the products produced. Ability to stand for up to 10 hours a day. Frequent light to moderate lifting required. Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong attention to accuracy and detail.

Supervision Received:

Works with minimal supervision. Issues and concerns need to be communicated to supervisor. Qualifications and Education Requirements High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required. Previous manufacturing or labor experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Lifting:

Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Push/Pull:

Ability to push metal materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Reaching:

Frequently reaching overhead and at shoulder height.

Stooping:

Bends body downward and forward at the waist. Weight is usually less than 20 lbs.

Standing:

Standing for moderate levels of time. Infrequently more than 30 minutes at a time.

Walking:
