Summary The Assistant Service Manager is the dealership’s front-line customer relations and service sales representative. The main job functions include satisfying customer and vehicle related problems, meeting predetermined service sales objectives, and thoroughly and accurately perform designated administrative activities. The ASM acts as an assistant to the service manager by working with the Service Advisors, Porters and other customer-facing service staff to manage the customer experience.
Responsibilities:
Be an example setter by leading and mentoring service staff to provide exceptional customer service and technical expertise. Conduct all business with sincerity, honesty, and genuine concern for customers. Monitor performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive team success. Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies in all service activities. Collaborate with other departments to enhance overall customer experience. Develop and implement processes for effective service writing and automotive diagnostics. Oversee Service scheduling process to ensure accurate and timely repairs. Handle minor customer complaints and/or misunderstandings with courtesy, tact, and in a manner that does not further aggravate problems. Make policy adjustments within the guidelines and budgets established by management. Answer incoming telephone calls promptly, courteously, and make every effort to satisfy the caller’s inquiry. Strive to make sure that every customer is very satisfied with the level of service offered by the dealership. Reviews and responds to guest feedback to maintain CSI ratings at or above manufacture’s standards. Meet or exceed sales objectives set by management. Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the service department to ensure efficiency and productivity. Develop and implement processes for effective service writing and automotive diagnostics. Oversee Courtesy/Loaner Vehicle Fleet and Pickup & Delivery Programs. Help staff and manage our Mobile Service initiative. Monitor performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive team success. Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies in all service activities. Collaborate with other departments to enhance overall customer experience. Requirements Proven experience in automotive service management or a similar role. Strong knowledge of automotive maintenance and repair. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members. Ability to lead a team effectively while fostering a positive work environment.
