Bradenton, FL 34203 Job Overview WeberSCENIC seeks to hire event and production staff for our fast growing events and design company. This position requires a strong commitment to detail, self motivation and customer satisfaction, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Your day to day Essential Functions (including but not limited to): Provide event support in areas including initial build out, during events, and as part of transition from one event to the next during event season. Maintenance and organization of inventory a key role Provide labor including pulling props and scenic elements for events, loading and unloading trucks for event delivery, event setup/take down. Acts as a support carpenter for the events team. Ability to build themed sets and pieces a plus. Works with event and scenic staff to complete assigned projects needed for event support and build out/strike. Maintenance and construction of event projects as assigned What are we looking for?

Qualifications and Experience:

Motivated self-starter with strong organizational abilities. Must be able to take initiative and work with minimal supervision. Ability to complete projects in a reasonable time frame to the complete satisfaction of client Knowledge and experience in carpentry and painting. Other trade knowledge a plus. Deal courteously and tactfully with other employees, superiors and clients Effective communication skills. Skilled in use of tools pertinent to general shop duties. High School diploma or equivalent; Previous event experience a plus. Knowledge of occupational hazards and appropriate safety precautions

Other Requirements:

Ability to work in extreme weather conditions typical to west Florida (i.e., heat, rain, or cold). Ability to use radio, telephone, and computer to communicate, and follow written and verbal instructions. Must be willing and able to work varied and long shifts including holidays, weekends, nights, and in support of events as needed. Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including sitting, bending, standing, and walking. Must be comfortable working overhead on 12′ ladder or lift of greater height This position will start at 24-36 hours weekly, on a flexible schedule to include both weekday hours, as well as weekend days / evenings as needed for the installation and strike of varying event timelines. The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of theatrical build techniques, scene shop safety (power tool usage, heavy lifting technique, etc) basic scenic painting knowledge. Must be able to lift 50 lb with assistance. Knowledge of the event industry is preferred, but flexibility and willingness to learn and understand the demand required of this field is welcomed.
