Director of Botanical & Holiday Design Cityscapes Roxbury, MA 02119 Job Overview We’re seeking a creative expert in biophilic design, specializing in the use of plants and natural materials to craft art, environments, and immersive experiences that foster a deep connection between people and nature. This role blends artistic vision with hands-on execution, transforming spaces into vibrant, living works that promote wellness, creativity, and sustainability. Responsibilities include conceptual development, spatial design, plant curation, Holiday concepts, installation, and collaboration across disciplines to bring nature-inspired projects to life.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and evolve the creative direction of all projects, ensuring alignment with biophilic design principles Work with Sales teams on design concepts for interior/exterior platescapes, special events and Holiday decor. Stay at the forefront of emerging design trends, materials, technologies, and scientific research in biophilia and environmental psychology. Work closely with marketing, product, and sustainability teams to ensure cohesive and impactful outcomes Oversees Holiday, Botanical Design, Moss and Preserved projects and Flowering Plant rotations Coordinates production and installation of Holiday, Living Art, Color Bowl and Flowering Plant Rotations with Botanical Design Manager and Holiday lead designer. Assists in Buying Holiday products with Owner and Holiday lead designer. Offers creative support and open thoughtful communication with all departments to ensure professional service and inter-office harmony and productivity Design and implement budgeting strategies, costing, operational workflows, and team structures that support the company’s growth and long-term success
Essential Skills and Experience:
Proven experience and leadership in Holiday, Botanical design, Floral and green industry. A strong portfolio showcasing innovative projects, or significant creative & design experience that can be adapted to greenery and holiday design Demonstrated leadership and team management experience, with the ability to mentor and inspire designers Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines Excellent communication and client-facing abilities, capable of translating ideas into compelling design solutions Experience with sourcing, budgeting, and operational planning in a creative environment Production – Ensuring communication between sales and designers to produce all orders Must possess a high degree of organizational skills and professionalism Team-oriented and possesses the ability to work collaboratively with the operations department, installation & exterior departments, sales/client representatives, and office staff. Proficient verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Effective communication and follow-through are a must!

$80,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
