Overview:
The WRAL Media Creative Producer plays a key role in elevating WRAL News through compelling, audience-driven promotional content. This role contributes to daily news promotions, newscast opens, Promotables (Targeted Special Reports), and all other promotional assignments supporting WRAL News. In addition, the producer develops engaging commercial multimedia assets for client campaigns, making commercial work an essential focus. This position requires creativity, strong collaboration, and the ability to deliver high-quality promotional assets across multiple platforms, strengthening both the WRAL brand and client success.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. Developing and producing daily WRAL News promotions, including topicals, newscast opens, and targeted promotable pieces such as special reports. Create compelling promotional campaigns to build WRAL News brand awareness, increase viewer engagement, and foster audience trust. Produce high-quality commercial multimedia assets for client campaigns that align with WRAL Media and Capitol Broadcasting Company’s marketing and revenue goals. Design and deliver creative assets for Capitol Broadcasting Company that support various company divisions. Develop sales materials and creative resources to drive revenue-generating initiatives. Support planning and execution of community activation and promotional events. Perform additional promotional assignments and duties as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, video production, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience in a broadcast, media, or agency environment. At least 2 years of professional experience in a broadcast, media, or agency environment. Proficiency in multimedia production tools and software including: Video editing (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro) Motion graphics (e.g., After Effects) Graphic design (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator) Strong attention to detail, creative judgment, and the ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines. Excellent communication and collaboration skills across creative, news, and sales teams. Understanding of media strategy, audience targeting, and market trends. Strong storytelling, brand development, and audience engagement skills

Work Conditions:
The work conditions and characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This is a full-time onsite position, located at WRAL Studios in Raleigh, NC. The standard shift for this role is the evening shift, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Candidates must be willing and able to: Work a consistent PM shift as assigned. Work occasional weekends and holidays based on production schedules, major news events, or station initiatives. Be available for on-call support, particularly in urgent or breaking news scenarios, though this is not a routine expectation. This role requires limited local travel, primarily for community events, promotional shoots, and client commercial productions. Work is performed in a typical office environment.
