As a Technical Writer you willresearch, write, and electronically produce instructionaldocumentation such as operator’s manuals, installationinstructions, and setup instructions. Create graphic line art,animations, and videos to enhance the overall communicationeffectiveness of the instructional documentation for Ditch Witchproducts. This is a flexible working environment with opportunitiesto work both in office and from home. Scheduling is based on theteam’s needs. What Will You Do?
- Create accurate, instructionaldocumentation using text, graphic storyboards, line art,animations, and videos.
- Define and translate customerrequirements into clear concise instructional documentation.
- Study and apply storyboard concepts for the creation of graphics.
- Study and apply the concept of reuse for text and graphics toobtain reduced translation cost.
- Create and route workflowrequests for changes and new material to the editor, team lead, andproduct teams (engineering, test, legal, and service) for reviewand incorporate appropriate changes in the documentation.
- Managea multi-project workload and complete all projects on time to meetproduction schedule requirements.
- Apply appropriate metadata tographic communications for searching and reuse.
- Perform otherduties as directed. What Do You Need?
- Work requires the level ofeducational development normally acquired by completing abachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Scientific andTechnical Communications, English, or related engineering field orapplicable experience as a writer/artist.
- 0-3 plus years’experience in instructional documentation.
- Experience with XML;database publishing preferred. Experience with Arbortext EpicEditor or similar application is desirable.
- Experience withtechnical illustration, animation, and video creation required.
Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw preferred.
Experience with Creo Illustrate and Creo Parametric CAD softwarepreferred.
- Proficiency with MS software (Excel, Word, andPowerPoint) is desirable.
- Mechanical background with the abilityto understand and communicate technical and mechanical concepts isdesirable.

- Competitive Salary
- $50-55,000 annually.
The payrange takes into account skills, experience, education, andlocation. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts andcircumstances of each case.
