Position Summary
Under the oversight of the Director of Adult Education, the employee provides operational oversight of specific classroom sites. Employee supervises instructors, conducts orientation, and maintains contact with the central Adult Education department. Employee also provides services to students and advises them as needed.

- $62,710).
This position involves performance duties for a federally funded project and is contingent on continued federal funding. In the event that funds for this position are discontinued or significantly reduced or if federal requirements for funding this project no longer include this position, the College shall have the right to discontinue the position. Neither tenure or non-probationary status may be attained in this position.

The position will be based initially at the Sparks Campus in Eufaula.
More than one position in the same job classification may be filled from the applicants for this position should another vacancy occur during the search process. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
Supervision and Oversight. Employee supervises Barbour County Adult Education Instructors and provides oversight for the Sparks Campus and Barbour County classes.
Oversees software orputer maintenance issues; works with MIS and other officials to resolve issues.
Performs data input for classes at all designated sites.
Creates and updates folders/files containing student information; designates students as active or inactive.
Coordinates with GED Examiner for student testing of GED exam.
Participates in the interview process of potential Instructors; issues keys to class sites to new instructors; ensures instructors receive and submit required forms and receive appropriate training.
Reviews instructor time sheets and submits to Adult Education Office.
Receives phone calls and answers general and specific questions concerning the program.
Substitutes in the absence of Instructor as needed.
Assists with GED Graduation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
Student Services. The employee performs duties to aid in the successful enrollment and attendance of students in the Adult Education program.
Schedules orientation classes for iing students; creates student packets containing relevant information.
Distributes information to student services and college receptionist.
Advises students providing information related to classes, GED, career paths and related issues.
Initiates student disciplinary and/or corrective actions;pletes incident reports for submission to the Director.
Documents contact hours and class attendance.
Responsible for letters informing graduates regarding graduation ceremonies.
Collects fees for graduation cap, gowns, and invitations.
Provides verification of student enrollment and attendance to individuals and offices in their official capacity to include probation officers, Social Security representatives, DHR case workers, Department of Public Safety regarding driver’s license forms, etc.
Administers practice tests; determines student eligibility for vouchers awarded to students for the official GED exam.
Performs as Instructor for one of the Adult Education sites.

Contributes to planning and development processes through appropriate mechanisms and channels.
Participates in professional activities that contribute to the educational goals of the College and its constituents.
Performs professional responsibilities in accordance with pertinent goals, missions, and plans of the College, division, and program.
Participates in the marketing, recruitment and retention of students, faculty and staff.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in education or related field from an accredited institution is required. Two years of experience providing services to undereducated adults is required.
Current and valid driver’s license with the ability to drive and travel to various site Adult Education classroom site locations is required.
Previous experience in admissions, records and financial aid in higher education is preferred.
ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The President will appoint an Advisory and Interview Committee to include representatives of the College faculty and staff. Thismittee will employ appropriate procedures, including the review of application packets, interview, and demonstration ofpetency, to determine which applicants are to be rmended to the President for further consideration. From all the applications received, an advisorymittee will select the applicants to be interviewed. Applicants must travel at their own expense for interviews that are conducted in person.
