Role:
In this role, you’ll play a vital part in shaping young minds by sparking creativity and fostering artistic expression. You’ll develop engaging lesson plans, guide students in exploring various art forms and techniques, and create a welcoming and supportive classroom environment.
Responsibilities:
Design and deliver engaging art lessons that align with curriculum standards and promote artistic exploration. Adapt curriculum to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students. Develop and implement creative projects that allow students to showcase their talents. Integrate various art forms and techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpting, and digital art (if applicable). Establish a positive and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning. Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and productive learning space. Provide constructive feedback and evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments. Maintain accurate student records and communicate progress to parents and guardians. Collaborate with colleagues within the art department and across disciplines to enrich the learning experience for students. Actively participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in art education. Contribute to the school community by attending meetings and participating in school events. Keep accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress. Sponsor and lead art-related clubs and extracurricular activities, encouraging student participation and engagement. Contribute to the school community through extracurricular activities and events. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the administration.
Qualifications:
Valid Florida Teaching Certificate or eligible to receive one. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of 3 years of successful middle school art teaching experience (preferred) Strong understanding of child development and diverse learning styles Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment Passion for art education and inspiring creativity in young learners Proficiency in using technology tools for art education (a plus)
