Acton, MA United Swim Club (USC) is seeking an Associate Head Coach to work primarily with our Senior and Senior United groups, while providing support to our Senior High School Group and Senior Prep level athletes. This individual has a passion for building and maintaining a culture of swimming excellence as well as fostering a supportive team culture. The ideal candidate has experience training senior-level athletes and a desire to grow a program.

Associate Head Coach Major Responsibilities:

Plan and implement USC’s senior program in conjunction with the team’s coaching staff (including lead Senior, Junior, and Age Group coaches) and club owners Actively promote and grow the USC program Maintain an environment in alignment with USC’s mission and vision statement Provide coaching, leadership, and instruction to all Senior-level swimmers as well as lead 12-16 hours of senior-level workouts each week (including afternoon pool, dryland, and possibilities for morning practices) Establish and maintain positive and effective communication with parents, swimmers, volunteers, and owners Work with USC’s College Swimming Specialist to support swimmers goals post high school Coordinate and attend travel meets including Sectionals, Junior National, etc Administrative duties include training time scheduling, assisting club owners with preparing and submitting meet entries, email communication with the team, and other duties as assigned Attend staff/club meetings on a regular basis Maintain all certifications to be in good standing with USA swimming (reimbursement of annual expenses provided for all coach recertifications)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1-3 years of coaching experience, USA Swimming preferred Extensive knowledge of competitive swimming and stroke mechanics Commitment to continuing education and personal development Strong organizational and time-management skills Strong communicator with the ability to interact courteously and effectively with all members including parents, staff, and swimmers of all ages Individuals interested should send a copy of their resume and cover letter to Liz Curtis and Jenn Krobly at unitedsc.ne@gmail.com
