Position Summary
The Clinical Education Coordinator advises students, provides quality classroom instruction, and maintains required scholastic records. The coordinator participates fully in institutional planning and assessment processes, management of the departmental curriculum, course scheduling, and departmental budget. The coordinator seeks continuous improvement of the medical laboratory technology curriculum, instruction, and use of resources.
SALARY SCHEDULE PLACEMENT
Range of $49,366 – $84,048, based upon the Alabama Community College System and Shelton State Community College Salary Schedule C3-3 to be determined by the applicant’s education and years of applicable experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrate an understanding of andmitment to the mission and goals of themunity college as well as the Health Services Division and the Medical Laboratory Technology Program
Schedule and coordinate all Medical Laboratory Technology student clinical assignments
Demonstrate and maintain a high level ofpetence and expertise in the teaching field and subject area
Teach courses as assigned by the Program Director and design and deliver each course ensuring an effective learning experience
Submit to the Program Director a course plan for each course taught in accordance with college guidelines
Provide instruction for Medical Laboratory Technology courses in the day, evening, or online on any Shelton State campus or instructional site
Implement effective andprehensive use of current technology and medical laboratory technology equipment in instruction
Inform students concerning course requirements, evaluation procedures, attendance requirements, and academic progress
Provide for effective evaluation of the learning experience of each student
Maintain necessary attendance, scholastic, and personnel records and submit them according to announced deadlines
Participate in annual planning and evaluation sessions in support of the College’s vision, mission, and institutional goals and objectives
Assist with program accreditation requirements
Demonstrate effective people skills,munication skills, and work ethic Participate in recruiting for the Medical Laboratory Technology Program
Serve as a college liaison with the medical laboratory technology caremunity
Assist the Program Director with developing and managing the departmental budget in support of institutional goals and mission
Advise students regarding academic course offerings as assigned
Demonstrate ability to use theputer effectively for word processing, electronicmunication, and for appropriateputer applications in the teaching discipline
Seek continuous improvement of the Medical Laboratory Technology Program curriculum, instruction, and resources
Participate in college events and functions

Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution
Documentation evidencing your current
ASCP-BOC
generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist
Three (3) years of full-time clinical experience as a clinical or medical laboratory practitioner
Preferred:
Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution Teaching experience in a post-secondary medical laboratory technology program
Experience in developing/teaching courses via distance learning technology
Experience in course development and in student instruction, supervision, evaluation, guidance, and academic counseling.
Kledge of state and national accreditation requirements

Contract of Employment:
Pursuant to the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees’ Policy 204.01 and the Chancellor’s Procedures for Policy 204.01, effective July 1, 2024, executive and administrative management personnel employed on Salary Schedule B or C and who are employed in positions titled as a Deputy, Chief, Dean, Assistant or Associate Dean, Executive Director or Director, shall enter into an employment contract with the College’s President per terms and conditions established by the Alabama Community College System. Salary Calculation:
