The Senior Manager, Curriculum Development isresponsible for leading a team of course developers andinstructional designers responsible for designing, developing andteaching formal learning content for Ping Identity customercourses, certifications, workshops and videos that explain PingIdentity product capabilities and features. You will further beexpected to create engaging courses for developers, systemintegrators and systems administrators. The role will be splitbetween doing your own work versus managing work through your team.
The below are the expected responsibilities:
People Management &Strategy Strategic Leadership & Execution:
Contribute to andexecute the departments strategy in coordination with the BusinessUnit (BU) leader. Receive objective-based assignments, determineresource allocation to meet goals, and drive owned initiatives.
Team Leadership & Development:
Create and communicate teamobjectives aligned with the BU strategy, set priorities forhigh-impact projects, and manage their efficient execution. Mentor,coach, and guide the team, managing career development pathways,competency skilling, and providing daily guidance to directreports.
Operational Management:
Execute financials, businessplanning, organizational priorities, and workforce management.
Course Development Curriculum & Content Ownership:
Own theend-to-end curriculum development process, including definingcourse structure, learning levels, and badging strategy to ensureconsistency across all learning programs. Manage the curriculumdevelopment pipeline, working closely with product management toassess needs and define new learning content. Own and improvecurriculum tooling and its usage.
Content Development & Guidance:
Drive the creation of high-quality learning materials by producingdesign documents based on requirements and guiding the team indeveloping certifications, training guides, workbooks, labenvironments, exercises, and instructor decks for various deliverymodalities.
Quality & Improvement:
Establish and enforce qualityassurance processes by organizing and managing the testing anddebugging of all training deliverables. Gather and incorporatelearner feedback from survey tools, and coordinate with SubjectMatter Experts and Operations to address changing needs andorganize test events and Train-the-Trainer sessions. Continuouslyimprove development processes and operational policies to enhanceefficiency and output across teams.
Project Management ProjectPlanning & Tracking:
Prepare and track development plans for coursedevelopment projects. Manage capacities and resource assignments,and maintain project trackers and sprint boards. Ensure processadherence and implement corrective actions.
Risk & IssueManagement:
Identify and advise the Project Board on project issuesand risks. Address deviations from plans, recommend correctiveactions, and develop exception plans.
Quality & Communication:
Ensure quality activities are planned and executed correctly, andmaintain quality registers. Communicate timelines, scope, andmilestones to stakeholders in coordination with the Ping IdentityTraining Project Office. Can translate functional plans into operational processesand guides execution. Effectively communicates and presents resultsand recommendations across disciplines. Experience with technicaltraining learning material design and development including onlinevirtual labs (essential). Experience of instructional design. Ableto transform complex information into engaging and effectivetraining. Demonstrated knowledge of the responsibilities ofsoftware developers, integrators and system administrators and theability to review your created content from a students’ point ofview. Technical training instructor experience would beadvantageous. Able to use industry-standard technical contentdevelopment authoring tools. Excellent attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written – as wellas editing and proofreading skills. Your content will help supportour worldwide customer base and partner network. Good timemanagement and project management skills. Able to work bothindependently with your own initiative and within a teamenvironment with strong collaboration and teamwork skills. Able towork as part of a distributed team across multiple time zonesTechnical Background System administration experience of CentOSLinux or other Linux/UNIX related operating system (essential)preferably at certification level. Strong experience working onWindows, Mac & Linux with varied skills around administration andtroubleshooting. Solid understanding of Internet technologies,specifically a solid knowledge of protocols such as HTTP, SSL/TLS,IPv4, XML, SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect. Experience in buildingintegrations using SAML2, OAuth 2.0 and OIDC standards. Experienceof TCP/IP networking, load balancing, REST, Virtual and CloudMachines and network security (SSL/TLS) expected. Experience ofworking with source code control systems (Git ideally). Awarenessof DevOps best practices including deployment automation tools,CI/CD, Docker and Kubernetes. Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, SAML 2.0,OIDC and LDAP Data Stores highly desirable. Experience of PingIdentity products highly advantageous. Some knowledge ofdevelopment/scripting ideally in JavaScript/Java/Groovy. Awarenessof at least one of the major cloud vendor platforms: Google Cloud,Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.
Education level:
Bachelor’sDegree in a technical discipline (Computer Science or Engineeringpreferred, Masters advantageous).
Salary Range:
$125,000 – $135,000In accordance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB19-085) the approximate compensation range for this role inColorado is listed above. Final compensation for this role will bedetermined by various factors, such as knowledge, skills, andabilities. Life at
