$65.8K – $92.8K a year 1 day ago Qualifications 3 years Master’s degree Special Education Senior level Full Job Description The Chairperson of the Evaluation Team (CET) is under the direction of the Director of Pupil Personnel Services andBuilding Principal, the CET will be responsible for implementing and managing effective, compliant and costeffective special education services for students. A successful candidate should have strong oral and writtencommunication skills and be able to work as part of team. Three years of experience, Masters Degree or higher andcertification as a Special Education Administrator are required. The CET is a building Administrator, in charge of the supervision and evaluation of faculty and staff and are required to complete all necessary evaluation in accordance with the timeline agreed to through the Collective Bargaining Agreements.
The CET is responsible for the following: Manage special education eligibility process, including chairing team meetings (annual, initial, reevaluationand progress update) Ensure IEPs meet all regulatory and district standards, are written to reflect best practice, reflect high qualityprogramming and are implemented with integrity Work with building based teams to develop and implement efficient and effective service delivery modelsreflecting best practice Manage complex and challenging cases, by maintaining effective parent, staff, advocate and outsideevaluator contact Identify and request authorization from the Director for any services not provided by Winthrop Public Schools Collaborate with the Principal to advance a Response to Intervention program and co-teaching model in theschool Participate in and contribute to student support team meetings Plan for and contribute to effective transitions for students and their families Work with other CETs and director to ensure consistency, cohesion and coordination of practices across thedistrict Provide teachers with consultation regarding program modifications, behavior contracts, FBAs, co-teaching,and cooperative learning Consult with special education teachers and regular education teachers regarding special education and atrisk students Observe and monitor the progress of students in various out of district placements Coordinate programs and placement Establish special education teachers and ESPs schedules and caseloads Schedule all special education students into mainstream, co-taught classes, and special education classes Coordinate and confer with all outside agencies working with students (DCF, DMH, DMR, counseling agencies,hospitals, courts, and other service provision agencies) Coordinate MCAS groups and schedule Confer with other administration regularly (regarding student/staff issues, program planning anddevelopment, program evaluation) Inform and meet with staff regularly in regards to policy change, timelines, deadlines, compliance, training Attend trainings and conferences as required Work closely and collaboratively with staff, parents, advocates regarding services delivery and programoptions Adjust teacher, ESP, and student schedules as needed Arrange coverage for initial meetings Maintain updated student data for administration staff and use Complete various indicators from DESE
