Three or more years of experience (preferred) Previous experience in coaching and knowledge of the operation of an athletic program Demonstrated evidence of excellent written and oral communication skills
ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
The Athletic Director is responsible for the development, coordination, and improvement of athletics at South Meadow School; directly responsible to the Principal for supervision and coordination of activities. This is a stipend position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Organize and administer the overall program of extracurricular interscholastic athletics at South Meadow School, and intramurals where directed by his/her supervisor. Assist in the selection and assignment of all athletic coaches, as well as administration of eligibility requirements (such as CPR certification) for the coaches and verify eligibility on an ongoing basis Assumes responsibility for the organization and scheduling of all athletic events Hires officials and assumes general responsibility for the proper supervision of home games Arranges transportation for athletic contest participants Develops and places into operation appropriate rules and regulations governing the conduct of athletic activities Prepare, administer, and monitor the athletic program annual budget Requisition program supplies and equipment Arrange all details of visiting teams’ needs as appropriate Prepare field and gym for practice and games according to District Policy and procedures Arrange field and gym practice schedules according to District Policy and procedures Maintain records on the results of all school athletic contests and provide appropriate game results and athletic information to the Principal Communicate with parents, teachers, and administration in a timely manner regarding all aspects of the athletic program Perform other job related duties as required
ADA MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR STANDARDS REQUIRED
Occasionally standing, particularly for sustained periods of time. Frequently walking, moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. Occasionally lifting, raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles. Constantly talking, expressing, or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which one must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. Constantly hearing and perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make discriminations in sound. Sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work.
