The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and growth. This role involves developing and implementing lesson plans in all subject areas, assessing student progress, and collaborating with parents and staff to support each child’s educational journey. A strong background in literacy and a commitment to early childhood education and childhood development is essential. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with Diocesan and NYS curriculum standards. Create a positive classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and active participation. Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to students and parents. Utilize early intervention strategies to support students who may need additional assistance. Ability to incorporate SEL curriculum and trauma informed practices as needed. Incorporate technology/instructional media into lessons to enhance student learning experiences. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices. Attend and participate in staff meetings, committees and related activities. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in literacy . Master’s degree preferred. Experience in early childhood education or classroom teaching k – 2. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and effective teaching strategies. Familiarity with curriculum development processes and lesson planning techniques. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
