Job Description:
The Enfield Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) teacher. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for English Language Learners (ELLs).
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to the needs of ELL students.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to ensure academic growth.
Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate language development strategies across the curriculum.
Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with parents and guardians.
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in TESOL.
Qualifications:
Valid Connecticut teaching certification with TESOL endorsement.
Bachelor’s degree in TESOL, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Proven experience working with middle school students, particularly ELLs.
Strong understanding of language acquisition theories and effective teaching strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administrators.
