Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse Services Job Description TITLE:
Domestic Violence Services Director (full time)
REPORTS TO
Deputy Director
MAIN FUNCTION
The DV Services Director supervises and provides leadership and oversight to the day to day operations of the DV services advocate staff. The DV Program provides trauma informed support, advocacy and accompaniment services to youth and adult survivors of domestic violence. Domestic Violence Services Oversee the provision of trauma informed support and advocacy services to domestic violence clients Assign DV services cases that come through the hotline Stay current on evidence based practices of victim service delivery Communicate and collaborate with other agencies to avoid services duplication and to improve service delivery to clients Residential Services Provide oversight to Residential program management to include our 9-bed Safe House and Supportive Housing units. Oversee Licensing visits and licensing renewal certificate application Support residential staff in conflict response, contracting and asking residents to leave Ensure compliance with shelter reporting requirements of funding agencies. Oversee the timely and accurate review and updating of shelter procedures and manual Hotline Ensure client services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through oversight of the hotline program to include hotline functioning and maintaining the daytime and after-hours calendars Oversee the quality and provision of services to those calling the hotline Supervision Hire, onboard, train and supervise DV advocacy services staff; ensure that ongoing training needs are identified and met Complete annual performance reviews with DV adult advocacy services staff and support ongoing staff development Facilitate weekly meetings of the Advocacy Services team in rotation with other Advocacy Services Directors Attend regular supervision meetings and participate in annual performance review with Program Supervisor Provide supervisory support to other staff as needed when other program supervisors are unavailable Occasional after hours admin on-call support to advocates for emergency or unusual situations Training Collaborate with other Program Directors to train new staff and to provide ongoing training to advocates Administrative Oversee the accurate and timely collection of client data by advocates Review records for Quality Assurance Participate collaboratively as a member of the Leadership Team and Supervisors Team and regularly attend meetings of the Domestic Violence Case Review Team as needed Professional networking; attend local, regional and statewide meetings Additional Responsibilities Responsibilities and tasks outlined above are intended to describe the essential job functions and core requirements for the performance of this job. QUALIFICATIONS
Three years of supervision of paid staff and leadership experience Crisis intervention, counseling or advocacy experience in a human services setting or translatable experience from another field Strong planning, interpersonal, engagement, listening, communication and crisis management skills Ability to assess priorities, take initiative, meet deadlines and multitask. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a willingness to appreciate different points of view and problem solve in a constructive manner Sensitivity to the impact of sexual and domestic violence in diverse and marginalized communities Ability to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships Vehicle and valid driver’s license is required. D uties and Responsibilities of all Advocacy Center staff Create welcoming, affirming, and safe work and client spaces by: Following agency procedures including those relating to safety, harassment, client confidentiality, mandated child abuse reporting, and building related problems; Performing office tasks such as answering the phone and door, cleaning, and responding to office needs; Regular attendance and meaningful use of staff, department, and supervision meetings, as well as other formal and informal means of communication to better agency culture, work relationships, and services. Commitment to working from an anti-oppression, harm-reduction, and strengths based trauma-responsive approach Inform supervisor of difficult, dangerous or unusual situations.
