  • 89,500 + Signing & Retention Bonuses
    KIPP Academy Lynn is hiring a passionate, equity-driven World History Lead Teacher to join our high school team.

We are looking for a culturally responsive educator who is committed to teaching inclusive and accurate histories that reflect the complexity of the world and the lived experiences of our students.

    Key Responsibilities
    Instructional Excellence
  • Design and deliver a rigorous and relevant World History curriculum rooted in inquiry, analysis, and cultural responsiveness
  • Center historically excluded voices and global perspectives, connecting past to present
  • Foster a classroom environment that encourages questioning, civic engagement, and critical thinking
  • Use data, student work, and formative assessment to inform planning and differentiate instruction
  • Create a learning environment that affirms student identity and builds historical literacy
    Culture and Relationships
  • Uphold high expectations for all students through consistent routines and strong relationships
  • Build a classroom culture of respect, curiosity, and dialogue
  • Communicate regularly and respectfully with families about student progress and academic goals
  • Support school-wide systems, including arrival, transitions, duties, and dismissal
    Professional Development and Collaboration
  • Engage fully in summer training, weekly PD, and instructional coaching
  • Collaborate with Humanities teammates to align content and strengthen instructional strategies
  • Receive and implement feedback to grow your practice and impact
  • Participate in school events, family nights, and community-building experiences
    Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in History, Social Studies Education, or a related field (required)
  • Commitment to anti-racist education and to teaching diverse and inclusive historical narratives
  • Must pass all required criminal background checks
    Preferred but Not Required
  • Two or more years of full-time classroom teaching experience
  • Bilingual (Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, or other community languages)
  • Experience working with English Language Learners and students with IEPs
  • Familiarity with culturally responsive teaching practices
  • Massachusetts teaching license in History or willingness to pursue certification

    We have a strong talent development program to support you. KIPP MA will cover all MTEL and SEI costs and offer free tutoring to help you earn certification.
    Compensation & Benefits
  • Base Salary:

    $55,000

  • 89,500 depending on experience and credentials
  • $1,000 signing bonus and $2,000 annual retention bonus
  • Additional pay for advanced degrees (+$3,000 and +$1,500)
