Job Description
- Collaborate with all team members, including but not limited to, building principal, department leader, special educators, instructional coaches, paraprofessionals, and other support personnel.
- Assess students regularly and refine and differentiate classroom instruction based on assessment data and student needs.
- Deliver instruction to a variety of students enrolled in History and/or Social Science courses, grades 6-8.
- Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans, classroom activities and assessments aligned with Massachusetts State Standards and current history classroom pedagogy.
- Application of historical reasoning skills in the classroom.
- Ability to employ effective 1:1 classroom technology strategies.
- Communicate regularly with students and involve families as partners in learning.
- Demonstrates strong classroom management skills while implementing a proactive approach to supporting all learners.
- Strong knowledge of, and ability to integrate, the Massachusetts History and Social Science Curriculum Framework, including the recent proposed revisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, alongside the ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with a diverse staff and student body.
- A strong work ethic, enthusiasm, positive attitude, and sincere interest in supporting the achievement of all students required.
