This position is part time and not benefit eligible

POSITION

Library Assistant K-7

JOB GOAL:

To provide students with access to library resources.

QUALIFICATIONS

Two years of college.
Basic understanding of child development.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the principal may find appropriate or acceptable.

REPORTS TO

Principal and K-7 Librarian

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Demonstrate ethical behavior and maintain confidentiality of student information.
Supervise and/or assist students and teachers in library usage.
Implement curricula in library skills as provided by the K-7 Librarian.
Provide books for teachers’ classroom needs.
Maintain inventory of books and all other media.
Other duties as assigned by the principal or K-7 Librarian.

JOB ENVIRONMENT

K-7 Schools

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Include frequent standing, walking, stooping, climbing
bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds; and possible exposure to bacteria and communicable diseases, depending on specific assignment.
