Job Description:
The Collegiate High School Faculty position at the NWFSC Collegiate High School (CHS) is a full-time, 40-hour/week, from 8:00 AM -4:00 PM, instructional position under the supervision of the Assistant Principal of the Collegiate High School. All faculty must stay up to date with professional trends in the teaching field and help facilitate the continual change that may be required to keep instruction current and relevant. Provides individualized classroom instruction to charter school students using research-based instructional practices. Instruction includes preparation for standardized testing and End of Course Exams
Provides supervision and academic support to Collegiate High School students throughout the school day and during after-school activities
Monitors students’ progress in high school and college classes, and in meeting the Florida State Standards
Works harmoniously and collaboratively with other high school and college faculty and staff to assure students’ success
Responds to all correspondence from parents, supervisors, students, and colleagues in a timely manner
Participates in reflective practices and applies feedback from supervisors
Uses assessment data including required Florida state testing, EOCs, PERT, and other standardized and authentic data to assess student progress and prescribe and implement improvement strategies
Maintains accurate and appropriate academic records. Grades a minimum of two assignments per week and enters all grades into FOCUS School Software and/or Canvas weekly for student accountability and parental progress monitoring
Stays current on and follows all Collegiate High School policies and procedures and assists in the annual review of school handbook, website, and correspondence materials to ensure information remains current, relevant, and accessible
Attends, assists, supports, plans, and helps execute events and activities outside of the school day to include, but not limited to open house, prom, senior activities, award ceremonies, convocation, high school and college graduations, and recruitment activities in the community
Ensures professional, timely communication with CHS faculty/staff, students, and parents
Develops, revises, evaluates, and implements Collegiate High School curriculum
Attends and actively participates in faculty meetings, mandated trainings, and professional development opportunities
Seeks out and participates in professional development and continuing education activities to maintain and build skills and knowledge related to use of technology and teaching best practices, to include QEP and CITL events
Serves as a member of the Collegiate High School Assessment and Accountability Team
Teaches WOW Week (orientation week) and Minimester (end-of-spring term) classes as assigned
Serves as an advocate and positive representative in the community for the Collegiate High School mission and the students
Serves as a Collegiate High School club sponsor as assigned
Serves as Collegiate High School Capstone advisor as needed
Participates in and complies with all mandatory and directed safety practices, drills, and trainings
Completes assigned tasks, duties by due dates
As a part of the college’s risk management tool, completes annual mandatory compliance training
Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:
Master’s Degree is required with 18 graduate hours in the subject taught or a graduate degree in education in the specific subject area taught
Florida secondary teaching certification in the subject area or the ability to obtain to one Familiarity with the Florida State Standards and state testing format and criteria
Experience in using student assessment data to make curriculum decisions
Minimum two years full-time teaching experience at the high school or college level
Familiarity with current instructional technology strategies
Excellent communication and organizational skills All degrees must be from a regionally-accredited postsecondary institution.
