40 parish property (ad valorem) tax mills are dedicated to employee salaries. The annual receipts from this tax are distributed to employees twice a year, one-half in January and one-half in June. The amount of each employee’s supplement is the employee’s salary multiplied by the annual percentage (computed each year based on actual tax revenues).
Plaquemines Parish Learning Center is seeking a qualified
HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER. 1
) Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited college or university
2) Valid LA teaching certificate in English, Math, Science, and or Social Studies required
3) Alternative School Setting experience preferred
4) A demonstrated philosophy that all students can and will learn
5) Excellent attendance record
6) Excellent oral and written communication skills
7) Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of Best Instructional Practices
8) Positive interpersonal skills
9) Professional verification of successful classroom teacher performances and/or residency
10) Successful experience in implementing research-based small group or one-on-one interventions to students
- This individual will exhibit skills and the ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents and the community
