Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Humanities Teacher for grades 5-8. This role can be structured as part-time or full-time, based on your availability, skills, and commitment to our mission-driven community.
What You’ll Do:
As our Humanities Teacher, you will: Design and deliver engaging English Language Arts , Social Studies , and History lessons tailored for middle school learners. Foster critical thinking, effective communication, and empathy through the exploration of literature. Embrace and advance San Miguel’s commitment to serving Newburgh’s youth. Who You Are A bachelor’s degree in Education , English , History , or a related field (Master’s preferred). NYS teacher certification in English Language Arts or Social Studies preferred Experience (or genuine passion) teaching grades 5-8 in a middle school setting. Enthusiastic about instilling a love of reading, writing, and history in young adolescents. Skilled in differentiated instruction, classroom management, and nurturing a reflective and inclusive learning space. Collaborative, student-centered, and committed to social justice in education.
