Position Overview:

Seacrest is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Chorus Teacher to devise and lead an engaging Choral Music curriculum for students Grades 4-12. This position is a very exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing Arts program under new leadership. The ideal candidate will bring energy, enthusiasm, and pedagogical expertise in Music to the classroom. This individual will also have the opportunity to serve as the Vocal Director for a student Musical.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and implement a comprehensive, scaffolded Music curriculum that ensures student skill development at every level.
• Incorporate Choral repertoire into engaging, integrated, and relevant coursework, remaining current with best practices in Choral Music.
• Instruct students in Choral Music concepts, including melody, harmony, rhythm, dynamics, texture, breathing, posture, tonality, and ensemble sound.
• Foster a growth mindset and a collaborative and inclusive learning environment, encouraging students to take intellectual risks and to explore, develop, and grow their musicianship.
• Rehearse and prepare students for school and community performances and events as directed by the Director of Fine Arts.
• Partner with other faculty to explore interdisciplinary Arts opportunities and integrate Choral Music across the school.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Music in Music Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred). Teaching experience in Choral Music, preferably at the lower, middle and upper school levels. Proficiency in piano and music technology. Strong commitment to student-centered learning and innovation in education. Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
