Reporting to a dean or vice president, part-time instructors support student success from enrollment to graduation by delivering engaging and equitable instruction aligned with college policies and mission. As part of the academic team, instructors design and facilitate meaningful courses that promote critical thinking and experimentation. They assess student learning through well-crafted evaluation methods, participate in curriculum development, and mentor students. Additionally, instructors connect students with academic and support services, maintain accurate records, and engage in professional development and institutional service as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Master’s Degree or higher in Health Education, Physical Education, Exercise Science or related fields with 18 or more graduate hours •

Note:

Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a US Dept of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACSCOC . Willingness and ability to travel and work at multiple campuses or off-site locations as necessary. Flexibility to teach different modalities and schedules as needed.

Preferred Qualifications Preferred:

Two (2) academic years of teaching experience at the high school or college level. Essential Duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Teach assigned courses on campus, off-campus locations, online platforms, Career and College Promise, and Early College High School programs. Carry out teaching responsibilities as assigned by the department chair and approved by the dean. Be accessible through traditional or electronic means to assist students, respond to questions, and provide support promptly, as outlined by the department chair and dean. Grade assignments promptly and record grades in the Learning Management System. Maintain all required college records, including attendance and grade documentation. Provide recommendations to the Department Chair regarding supplies, equipment, and repairs needed for instructional purposes. Stay current with educational technology and incorporate instructional tools to enhance teaching and student learning. Familiarize yourself with and adhere to all college policies, including required training and compliance standards. Use the college’s Learning Management System to deliver online instruction, support on-campus teaching, and post syllabi and course materials. Comply with FERPA regulations to protect student privacy when sharing information. Communicate effectively and collaborate professionally with colleagues and students. Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the mission and philosophy of the community college. Perform additional duties as assigned or related to the responsibilities outlined above.
