Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and creative GA Pre-K Lead Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education, a strong background in Georgia Pre-K standards, and experience working in a lottery-funded Pre-K program. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for creating a structured, organized, and fun learning environment that engages children and supports their developmental needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive, age-appropriate curriculum that aligns with Georgia Pre-K standards and incorporates WSO (Work Sampling Online) lesson plans.
- Create a structured and organized classroom environment that fosters creativity, exploration, and learning.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and strategies to engage students and accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Assess and document children’s progress through observation and formal assessments, maintaining accurate records.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive community.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child’s development, progress, and any concerns.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom, ensuring that materials and resources are readily available.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices.
- Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and GA Pre-K program requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Valid Georgia Teacher Certification in Early Childhood Education.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a lottery-funded Pre-K program, with familiarity in GA Pre-K standards and requirements.
- Strong understanding of early childhood development principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a fun, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Proficient in using assessment tools and maintaining documentation of student progress.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with WSO (Work Sampling Online) or similar assessment tools.
- Training in early childhood education curriculum development and implementation.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
