This role is integral in supporting the day-to-day operations of our center, coaching and mentoring teachers, maintaining compliance with licensing regulations, and embodying our philosophy in every interaction. The ideal candidate is a natural leader, a quick thinker, and a team player who thrives in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Collaboration Act as a role model and thought partner for teachers, demonstrating practices aligned with the Reggio Emilia philosophy and Project Approach. Foster a collaborative, respectful, and reflective culture across the teaching teams and admin staff. Partner with the Director to develop and maintain a cohesive administrative team with shared goals and responsibilities. Teacher Coaching & Development Observe classrooms regularly and provide supportive, constructive feedback to teachers. Coach teachers in techniques for connection with students and positive behaviors. Support teachers individually in their professional growth. Administrative Duties Assist with daily operations including staff scheduling, family communication, enrollment processes, and event planning. Help recruit, interview, and orient new staff in CCMCDC practices. Maintain accurate records and ensure all files (children’s, staff’s, licensing) are up-to-date and compliant. Maintain licensing regulations for state inspections. Community & Family Engagement Build trusting, responsive relationships with families and support a culture of open, two-way communication Actively participate in community events, parent meetings, and school-wide initiatives. Partner with the Pastor in making connections with the CDC and the larger church community. Curriculum & Pedagogy Support staff in designing and implementing project-based, inquiry-driven curriculum experiences. Ensure classroom environments reflect the values of the Reggio Emilia approach. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred Minimum 3-5 years experience in a licensed early childhood setting; at least 1 year in a leadership or administrative role Strong understanding of the Reggio Emilia philosophy and Project Approach curriculum preferred Familiarity with state licensing regulations and early childhood best practices Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Proven ability to lead and work as part of a team in a high-energy environment Confidence in coaching, mentoring, and supporting adult learners Able to bend, squat, sit, and lift up to 40+ pounds Proficient with technology and comfortable managing digital records and documents Demonstrates a strong personal code of ethics and integrity, with values that reflect compassion, service, and respect for others
