The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering the growth and development of young children. This role involves creating a safe, engaging, and educational atmosphere for toddlers while implementing effective behavior management strategies. Duties Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote learning in areas such as math, language, and social skills. Provide high-quality early childhood care by ensuring the safety, well-being, and emotional support of each child. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child’s progress and any concerns that may arise. Utilize Montessori methods to encourage independent learning and exploration within the classroom. Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and respect among students. Observe and assess children’s development to tailor educational approaches that meet individual needs. Collaborate with fellow educators to create lesson plans and a cohesive teaching strategy that enhances the overall educational experience. Qualifications A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred. Credits toward Bachelor’s/ Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and/or EC Special Education Completed valid CDA (NYS study plan eligible) Complete NY state comprehensive background check Certification in child CPR, Mandated Reporter, et al At least two-years experience in a licensed preschool or daycare Experience working in a private school setting is advantageous. Strong knowledge of child welfare practices and early childhood development principles. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues. Familiarity with Montessori and other progressive teaching methods are a plus. Ability to manage classroom behavior positively and constructively. A genuine passion for educating young children and supporting their growth.
