Overview Position Summary:

A Step Above Child Development Center is seeking a loving, Christ-centered 3K Teacher to join our team. This role is vital in laying a spiritual and academic foundation for three-year-old children. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing environment where children feel safe, loved, and excited to learn about the world and God’s love. You will lead your classroom with intentionality, faith, and a deep commitment to early childhood development through Christian values.

Key Responsibilities:

Spiritual Development:

Integrate biblical truths and age-appropriate Christian teachings into daily routines, play, and instruction. Lead children in daily devotions, prayer, Bible lessons, and worship songs. Model Christ-like behavior in the classroom and throughout the center.

Instruction & Learning:

Create and implement lesson plans based on a developmentally appropriate. Promote spiritual, social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play-based and hands-on activities. Observe and assess individual developmental milestones and adapt instruction accordingly.

Classroom Environment:

Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom where children can thrive. Foster a loving, respectful, and structured space that promotes independence and cooperation. Use positive behavior guidance and redirection strategies consistent with Christian principles.

Family Communication:

Build trusting relationships with families, keeping them informed and engaged in their child’s spiritual and developmental growth. Provide regular updates on classroom activities, progress, and upcoming events. Partner with parents to support both home and classroom learning.

Team Collaboration:

Work in unity with assistant teachers, co-workers, and leadership staff to support the center’s mission. Participate in staff meetings, prayer gatherings, and professional development trainings. Support school-wide events, programs, and outreach efforts as needed.

Qualifications:

A committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred, but not required. Prior experience teaching or working with preschool-aged children (3-4 years old). CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain upon hire.

Work Schedule:
