Full-Time Reports to: Director The 1st grade teacher serves as the primary instructor, role model, and spiritual guide for the students in their class. We are seeking a teacher who is enthusiastic about Christian education, passionate about working with children from diverse backgrounds, and committed to helping all students succeed. We are seeking a Math & Science teacher who brings warmth, patience, and educational excellence to the classroom every day. Our ideal teacher will encourage children to develop a love of learning in a Christian environment through creative teaching methods because we serve children and families from diverse cultures and backgrounds, abundant grace and professionalism is required. Major Responsibilities:
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Creates lesson plans, aligned with current state and district standards, which drives instruction through formative assessment and differentiation. Maintains a clean, safe, organized classroom, which supports students’ independent learning, collaboration and choice Provide quality and effective instruction in the following subject areas: Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Bible, and Physical Fitness Demonstrates mastery of related subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials for course(s) taught Provide consistent, immediate feedback to student learning and asks analytical questions that elicit students’ responses that incorporate prior knowledge, life experience and interests that are directly related to the content objective Assess student progress towards grade level standards and use assessment results to inform instruction Monitor and maintain a positive classroom environment that supports the school wide behavior expectation in which most students are engaged, incorporates mutual respect and provides cooperative learning opportunities. Establishes and maintains appropriate relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members by communicating in a tactful, courteous, and confidential manner. Attends and participates in staff meetings and special school related activities as needed Demonstrates a commitment to continuous professional growth and works with Director to formulate and complete professional development plans. Does not engage in discriminatory practices and maintain high expectation for all students regardless of race or ethnicity, origin, gender, socio-economic status, disability, religion, political beliefs, family structure, or standard English proficiency Develop positive relationships with parents and students built on mutual respect and trust Engages parents and guardians in the education of their children. Contribute to the school wide community by maintaining a positive attitude, supporting other staff members and students, fulfilling recess and lunch duties, and performing other job-related duties as determined by the Director. Protect all children from physical punishment or verbal abuse by anyone in any program activity, and immediately report any such an incident to the Director.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Hold a Bachelors Degree preferably in Education or valid Early Childhood Education Certificate (Birth to Age 8 or Grade 3) OR Elementary K-8 Certificate OR Elementary 1- 8 Certificate OR Special Education Certificate in Early Childhood Endorsement Proficient with personal computer and software, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) Outstanding organizational and leadership skills with a spirit of excellence Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form Create an atmosphere of positive, appropriate discipline, and ability to delegate authority judiciously A dynamic and energetic individual with a positive attitude, high level of integrity, honesty and strong work ethic A willingness to learn and adhere to the policies, procedures, and theology of the
