Abraxas I, 165 Abraxas Rd.,Marienville, PA 16239 Now hiring a Science Teacher to join ouramazing educational team at our Private School at Abraxas I inMarienville, PA. We are looking to employ a privately or publiclycertified science teacher. Abraxas I provides adolescent treatmentprograms for substance abuse, delinquency and medically necessarymental health services. Our 90-acre campus is nestled in theAllegheny National Forest in northwestern Pennsylvania. In this Science Teacher role, you will help at-risk adolescents in theirjourney Building Better Futures.

- Employ a wide varietyof instructional methods, behavioral tools, and materials that aremost appropriate for meeting standard operating procedures andeducational objectives that are outlined in the school curriculum.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning andappropriate to the clients’ maturity.
- Create and maintainaccurate client/administrative documents such as daily attendanceand grade books; summarize achievements in reports for assignedclients including attendance and behavior.
- Develops daily lessonplans and completes all required educational paperwork.
- Participate as an educational team member in coordination with theclients, staff, and school and represents the program inprofessional meetings, family meetings, educational conferences,and teacher training workshops.
- Supports the Abraxas philosophyand mission and promotes the Seven Key Principles of care.
- Demonstrates appropriate use of Safe Crisis Management techniquesand skills.
Your Education and Certification:
Bachelor’s degree inrelated field in subject matter that is utilized for teachingexperience. State certification (public (level I or II) or private)in education.
Other Qualifications:
At least twenty-one (21) yearsof age Driver’s License Physical exam that includes TB and drugtesting. Criminal clearances (State Police, FBI and State ChildAbuse Clearances) Satisfactory completion of background screeningand applicable pre-employment checks, including but not limited toemployment and/or personal reference and driving records.
