Teacher and Assitant Teacher Building Blocks EEC 51 Pembroke Avenue, Pittsfield, MA 01201 Overview The Teaching Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the educational environment within the classroom. This position involves working closely with teachers to enhance student learning and development, ensuring a positive and effective learning experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for childhood development and a commitment to fostering a nurturing atmosphere for students. Duties Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities. Support students in their academic pursuits, particularly in subjects such as Math. Help manage classroom behavior and maintain an orderly environment conducive to learning. Engage with students to promote their social and emotional well-being, focusing on child welfare. Facilitate small group instruction and provide individualized support to students with special education needs. Collaborate with teachers on curriculum development and adapt materials for diverse learners. Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and needs. Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, and other school events. Experience Prior experience in a private school setting is preferred but not required. Knowledge of childhood development principles is essential. Familiarity with classroom management techniques and special education practices is a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues. Experience in childcare or related fields will be beneficial. This position is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic about education and eager to make a difference in the lives of young learners.
