Job Description
Special Ed Teacher | Lagrange, Maine 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars Lagrange, ME 04453 Minimum 1+ years special education experience required. A leadership role is available for a Special Service Director at a K-12 school in Lagrange, ME, serving approximately 110 students. This full-time, contract position offers the opportunity to oversee and lead Special Education, 504, and Gifted and Talented programming within the district.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee all aspects of IDEA, Section 504, and Gifted and Talented programs, ensuring compliance and quality service delivery Lead, inspire, and support students and staff to achieve high levels of academic and behavioral success Develop and maintain professional, respectful relationships with students, staff, parents, and community stakeholders Evaluate instructional programs and provide guidance for improvement Oversee Behavior and Life Skills programs to support diverse student needs Utilize data-driven decision-making to inform program development and monitoring Collaborate as an integral member of the district leadership team Integrate technology effectively for instruction and data analysis
Qualifications:
Previous successful leadership experience as a Director of Special Education In-depth knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, Chapter 104, and relevant assessment tools for student identification and reviews Proven experience overseeing special education, 504, and GT programs with strong compliance and results Ability to inspire trust, confidence, and strong professional relationships across various stakeholders Familiarity with behavior and life skills programming Proficiency in using technology as an instructional and analytic resource
Licensure and Education:
Current Maine certification as an Administrator of Special Education (030) required Masters degree in special education, educational leadership, administration, or a related field
