Special Education Teacher•

ICT & SETSS

(Grades 9-12) Community High School is seeking a dynamic and experienced Special Education Teacher to provide a combination of Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) and Special Education Teacher Support Services (SETSS) at the high school level. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of New York State Learning Standards, Regents pathways, and IEP implementation. This role is ideal for educators who are passionate about inclusion, flexible service delivery models, and targeted academic interventions for students with IEPs.

Responsibilities Include:

Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT): Co-plan and co-deliver instruction alongside general education teachers in core content areas (ELA, Math, Science, or Social Studies) Provide specially designed instruction and in-class supports aligned to IEP goals and curriculum standards Support executive functioning, task initiation, and self-regulation strategies within inclusive settings Adapt curriculum and assessment practices to ensure access and rigor for diverse learners Special Education Teacher Support Services (SETSS): Provide direct, targeted instruction to students in small group or individual sessions outside the general education classroom Focus on foundational skill-building in reading, writing, math, and executive functioning Track and report student progress toward IEP goals with clear documentation and data collection Deliver instruction in a flexible setting (in-class, pull-out, or push-in, as appropriate to student needs)

General Responsibilities:

Serve as case manager for assigned students, ensuring timely and compliant development of IEPs Collaborate with related service providers, counselors, and families to support student achievement Monitor student progress, revise instruction as needed, and provide regular updates to stakeholders Participate in IEP meetings, family conferences, and school-based problem-solving teams Maintain compliance with NYS special education regulations, timelines, and procedural safeguards

Qualifications:

NYS Students with Disabilities Certification (Grades 7-12) Strong understanding of ICT and SETSS service delivery models and special education mandates Experience supporting students in both inclusive and small group instructional settings Familiarity with NYS Regents requirements and IEP Safety Net diploma options Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Preferred Experience:

Prior experience with co-teaching frameworks and data-driven intervention Knowledge of assistive technology, testing accommodations, and transition planning Comfort using IEP management platforms (e.g., SESIS) and progress monitoring tools
