Position Overview:
Yeshiva Har Torah is seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Specialist to provide targeted support in math and literacy for students in both elementary and/or middle school for the 2025-2026 school year. The Learning Specialist will work collaboratively with classroom teachers to deliver interventions using both push-in and pull-out models. This role focuses on helping students who need additional support to achieve academic success by addressing their individual learning needs. We will only consider candidates who are certified in teaching students with disabilities from New York State.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide small group and one-on-one instruction in math and reading for students who require additional support. Collaborate with classroom teachers to identify students’ learning needs and implement tailored intervention strategies. Utilize both push-in (supporting students within the classroom) and pull-out (providing instruction in a separate setting) models to deliver effective learning support. Regularly assess and track student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary to ensure continued growth. Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, and administrators regarding student progress and strategies for continued improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). New York State license in teaching special education is required Training in the Orton Gillingham literacy approach is preferred Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students, particularly in math and reading support. Familiarity with various learning support methods, including differentiated instruction, RTI (Response to Intervention), and IEP implementation.

$60,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
