REPORTS TO
Supervisor of Special Populations
JOB GOAL
Responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program to meet the needs of students who are unable to attend school for physical, health or mental impairment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Works in coordination with other teachers in planning and developing the student’s program Prepares, implements, and evaluates each student’s work based on individually assessed needs in accordance with district procedures Prepares lesson plans for each student Provides specialized instructional techniques through individual sessions designed to meet the educational needs of students Coordinates with regular or special education teachers regarding the student’s curriculum Collects assignments and returns assignments to school/teacher and confers with the classroom teacher as requested concerning any educational needs of a student Confers with special education teachers regarding progress reports on each student in the program as needed Provides testing to students, TCAP, EOC and Alternate assessment Provides input regarding student progress for 30 day review Maintains documentation of student attendance to homebound sessions Performs other related duties assigned by the Supervisor of Special Populations
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This job may require lifting of objects that exceed 50 lbs., or the average weight of a child, if assigned to elementary school, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Other physical demands that may be required are as follows: Pushing and/or pulling Climbing and/or balancing Stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling Reaching, handling Talking Hearing Seeing
