Jul 1, 2025 Job Description Essex Westford School District (EWSD) has an opportunity for a full-time Literacy Interventionist for the 2025-26 school year. This flexible role will support elementary schools within Essex Junction. The Literacy Intervention Specialist collaborates with classroom teachers to design and facilitate learning opportunities that support students in achieving literacy proficiencies and expanding their skills. Currently, this position is anticipated to last for one year. This is a temporary one-year position. EWSD is committed to considering out-of-state candidates who are eligible to hold a Vermont educator license but do not yet hold a license in this state. Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply: Hold (or be eligible to hold) a valid VT educator license with an applicable endorsement (Elementary Education or Literacy Specialist). A Masters Degree in Education with a graduate or undergraduate degree focus on English, Literacy, Reading, Language Arts, or other appropriate discipline preferred
Experience with direct literacy instruction is required.
A strong understanding of the Common Core State Standards and the pedagogical underpinnings of these standards.
A deep commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education.
Dedication to providing a safe and respectful learning environment for all students with an ability to understand and teach various learning styles.
Successful experience with professional collaboration as exemplified by Professional Learning Communities.
Expertise in utilizing and integrating current technology to support instruction.
