As a Special Education Teacher Assistant, you will work with preschool students with disabilities. Your goal is to recognize their individual educational needs and set them up for success. The ideal candidate is compassionate, creative, and dedicated to helping students reach their potential.
Responsibilities:
Identify student needs and develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students Modify the educational curriculum to best meet the needs of each student Use a range of instructional methods and learning techniques Create and enforce classroom rules and procedures Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records Write and submit necessary reports Communicate with parents and school personnel
Qualifications :
Minimum NYSED Level 1 assistant teacher certification; Previous experience as a assistant teacher Understanding of children with autism spectrum disorders and other related disorders Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines Excellent verbal and written communication skills
