School Bilingual Teacher Assistant(Spanish-English)
Position Overview:
The School Bilingual (Spanish-English) Teacher Assistant supports classroom teachers in providing educational instruction and assistance to students in both English and Spanish. This role plays a crucial part in bridging communication gaps, reinforcing learning, and ensuring a supportive classroom environment for bilingual students.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist classroom teachers in delivering lessons in both English and Spanish.
Support bilingual students with assignments, projects, and comprehension of classroom material.
Translate classroom instructions, announcements, and written materials as needed.
Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce learning concepts.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Help prepare classroom materials and set up learning activities.
Communicate with parents in both English and Spanish regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Assist in supervising students during recess, lunch, and school activities.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
Experience working with children in an educational setting is an asset.
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (speaking, reading, and writing).
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and parents.
Skills & Competencies:
Effective communication skills in both English and Spanish.
Patience, empathy, and understanding of diverse student needs.
Ability to follow instructions and adapt to classroom dynamics.
Knowledge of basic educational practices and child development.
Working Conditions:
Classroom setting within a school environment.
Interaction with students, teachers, and parents daily.
May require occasional lifting of classroom materials and supplies.

$18.50 to $30.47 Per Hour
