Description Job Summary:

Responsible for providing first-response and in-depth service activities on routine general purpose diagnostic imaging equipment, including Radiology, Ultrasound, and other radiographic devices. Provides Primary support for multiple Ultrasound systems.

Education:
Required:

Associate degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or equivalent Military or work experience.

Preferred:

A Bachelor of Science degree is desirable. Training in diagnostic imaging equipment provided by various manufacturers or X-Ray Phase I, II, and Ultrasound offered by RSTI or equivalent.

Experience:
Required:

Minimum of three (3) year’s experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician II responsible for a broad range of service activity on biomedical equipment.

Preferred:

Experience with portable X-Ray and/or Diagnostic Ultrasound equipment. Position Requirement(s):

License/Certification/Registration Required:

Valid driver’s license.

Preferred:

Certification by the ICC as a Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) A+ certification

Network Certification Department Position Summary:

Responsible for providing first response and in-depth service activities on a broad range of diagnostic imaging equipment, including Radiology, Ultrasound, and other radiographic or diagnostic imaging devices. Provides Primary support for multiple Ultrasound systems. Service and trouble-shooting activities provided by the Specialist I will generally be classified as being basic to moderately complex. The Imaging Specialist I is responsible for supporting the overall goals and objectives of the Technology Management organization along with overall CQI goals and programs pursued by the diagnostic imaging and other departments supported by Technology Management.

Key responsibilities include:

Performance of maintenance, repair, and calibration of hospital diagnostic imaging equipment. Documentation of preventative maintenance, repairs, and work activities to meet CMS/DNV requirements and departmental business needs. Support of computerized diagnostic imaging equipment and associated networks. Coordination of vendor repairs and documentation of vendor activities according to departmental practices. Communication with Technologists, Physicians, Nursing, Vendors, and other staff members to understand and/or resolve equipment problems. Assistance with investigation of incident reports regarding equipment in area of responsibility. Instruction of other Technology Management staff in the maintenance and repair of complex medical and/or communication systems. Development and presentation of in-service educational programs for hospital personnel. General supervision is received.
