Position Description
Designer will use CAD programs to create new products, and customize existing designs. Candidate will propose new parts and source models from vendors. Must be able to design and detail electromechanical drawings from sketches with limited information. The ability to interpret drawings and check accuracy is required. Provide layout drawings as required in the resolution of design questions. Designer is expected to oversee and participate in prototype builds. Key Responsibilities
Generate and maintain assemblies based on criteria provided by engineering, sales, and marketing.
Create and maintain part libraries. Revise and check assembly and part drawings per customer or factory revisions requests.
Prepare and check bills of material for newly created or revised drawings.
Cross check drawings and bill of materials. Must be flexible, problem solving oriented, acceptable to change and display initiative to learn and make improvements as necessary.
Must be able to communicate effectively. Required Education & Qualifications
High school graduate with a minimum of 2 years applicable education or minimum of 2 years’ experience in HVAC systems, components, or sheet metal cabinet assembly is a plus.
CAD experience. Solid Edge preferred, but any CAD platform will be recognized. Sheet metal experience is a plus. SAP experience or similar enterprise planning software. Proficient in MS Office Suite.
